IN A NUTSHELL
A fine art print, made to order, of The Priestess from the Spirit Vertigo Tarot collection, 8x10".
SYMBOLISM
The Priestess is a liminal translator and mediator between worlds. In the Smith-Waite tarot, The High Priestess sits before a veil or curtain hung between two columns on the seashore's edge. In the Spirit Vertigo, our Priestess dwells underwater, and it's unclear whether she wears the Veil or whether she is the Veil. Her arms are dappled, dark and weathered. She draws threads and rope between her hands, weaving netting by her bowls of smoke, herbs, and seaweeds. Her cavernous chest is full of eyes where the heart goes. Jellyfish float around her like haloes, with their decentralized nervous systems, bodies like waters, and wyrd immortality, and she's immune to their sting.
